An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior/Associate Structural Engineer to join our client's growing, dynamic engineering consultancy based in Berkhamsted.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to join a close-knit team working on a wide variety of projects. You will be responsible for leading projects, managing client relationships, and providing technical expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse range of structural engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and deliver innovative, cost-effective structural designs.
  • Be client-facing, managing key client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Take responsibility for the technical output of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support their professional development.
  • Coordinate with other professionals such as architects, surveyors, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Oversee project timelines and budgets to ensure the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
  • Assist in business development, identifying new opportunities and expanding the firm's portfolio.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE or MICE), or working towards chartership.
  • Proven experience in the design and delivery of structural engineering projects, ideally across a range of sectors (residential, commercial, etc.).
  • Excellent project management skills with a strong understanding of project delivery, budgets, and timelines.
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural design and analysis, with proficiency in relevant software.
  • Ability to work autonomously, but also as part of a team.
  • Confident and professional client-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Knowledge of BIM and other collaborative design tools.
  • A proactive, solution-driven approach to problem-solving.
