Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Salary: £140 - £219 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Contract Type: Temporary

Role of a Supply Teacher:

As a Supply Teacher, you will step into a range of classrooms, providing cover for planned or emergency teacher absences. If you are able to commute to Hemel Hempstead for supply work you will be provided with different opportunities across various schools. Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering lessons that have been pre-set by the absent teacher, ensuring that learning continues seamlessly.
• Managing classroom behaviour and keeping students on task, in line with school policies and procedures.
• Marking students' work where applicable and providing feedback to ensure continuity in their learning.
• Being flexible and prepared to teach across a range of subjects and year groups, often at short notice.
• Ensuring safeguarding protocols are followed at all times and that students feel supported in their learning.
• Quickly building rapport with students and staff to create a positive classroom atmosphere.

Essential Criteria:

• Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
• Confidence in delivering engaging lessons and managing a classroom independently.
• The ability to adapt to new environments quickly and work effectively with a range of age groups and learning abilities.
