ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR

£50 - £65K PER ANNUM

BERWICK UPON TWEED

Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based in Berwick Upon Tweed and are looking for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their Team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance along with working on breakdown maintenance. You will be required to diagnose electrical faults on a range of equipment associated with production and site services, as well as carry out improvements and project work. You will act as a strong business partner for the local management team with a focus on leadership and quality operations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise Electrical shift Tech / Day shift Tech / Instruments and Controls Engineers and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standard and in compliance with current regulations and standards
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate electrical work, considering factors such as health and safety, customer demand, project timelines, and resource availability
  • Monitor the Work Order / Projects progress of the department and make any necessary adjustments to the schedule or work assignments as needed
  • Monitor the team's performance and identify any issues or areas for improvement
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in line with contract requirements and guidelines, including compliance with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice
  • Ensure that all relevant documentation and paperwork is completed accurately and on time
  • Complete site health and safety checks to ensure that all paperwork is being filed in compliance with company procedures
  • Ensure all risk assessments & method statements are relevant and being adhered to

To qualify for this role, you should have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in High-Volume Fast Moving Manufacturing
  • Minimum academic qualification HNC or HND in electrical engineering
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading and managing teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong passion for quality excellence

Desired/Not Essential

  • Previous knowledge of PLC programming
  • HV Switching, up to 11kv
  • Knowledge of VSDs
  • Competent using AutoCAD or similar.
