Hours: 40 hours per week, working flexible shifts

Job Description: Care Home Chef, where youll be involved in every aspect of the kitchen. From planning menus and leading your team to ensuring high food standards and a great dining experience for the residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all kitchen production to meet standards and deadlines.
  • Order and manage stock from suppliers.
  • Train and coach junior staff.
  • Ensure all HACCP and COSHH requirements are met.
  • Implement and supervise kitchen control (menus, hygiene, health and safety, staff, cleaning, waste control).
  • Prepare menus considering content, balance, colour, and nutritional values within budget.
  • Consult with residents to meet their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Prepare special diets as directed by nursing staff.
  • Maintain agreed stock levels and implement a deep cleaning schedule.
  • Conduct monthly kitchen audits and report findings.
  • Assist in preparing function menus and costing.
  • Attend resident/relative meetings and cooperate with requests from the General Manager and residents.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

Required:

  • Flexibility to cover weekends and/or rotating shifts with the current chef.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Satisfactory DBS check.

Desired:

  • Experience in food preparation for the relevant client group.
