The role will be based on the outskirts of Hull. Reporting to the Production Manager, the primary objectives of this role are to maintain quality standards, maximise efficiencies, manage the team and control costs.This role would suit someone with experience in a manufacturing and engineering environment, who is looking for an interesting challenge as part of a well-established business going through a period of extensive change and modernisation.This is a newly created post as part of an expanding team.You will be joining the business at an exciting time in the development of the company, with ambitious plans for growth and a number of upcoming projects across the operations team, providing the opportunity for a varied brief.We’re looking for a team player who understands the importance of good culture, who is efficient and reliable; a good communicator with a keen eye for detail.Job DescriptionDuties include;• Manage workflow and work with the Production Manager to plan production• Hands-on day-to-day management of production staff• Implement and maintain quality control processes in-line with ISO9001• Have an input into material stock management for the production lines• Ensure shop floor data is accurate to help with forecasting and ERP• Ensure production output meets agreed specifications and timescales• Oversee and maintain training requirements for production staff• Work with the facilities team to schedule regular maintenance of plant and equipment• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation• Maintain impeccable housekeeping standards in production areas• Implement and maintain a system of continual improvement• Provide regular and accurate reporting as requiredAs an important member of the team, you may be required to play a supporting role in a number of strategic projects related to production within the business, including:• Working towards and maintaining the ISO9000 quality standard• NPI process for new product development and innovation• Introduction of new stock control and workflow systems Person specification:If you’re the right person for this role, you’ll be reliable and passionate about doing things properly. You will have a proven track record of performing a supervisory role, preferably in a production or industrial environment.Central to this role is the effective management of people and systems. If you’re successful, you’ll need to be methodical, structured and organised.The right candidate will;• Be self-motivated and results-driven• Have excellent communication and people management skills• Be able to problem solve in a fast-moving environment• Be confident in providing robust, constructive feedback at all levels of the businessEssential:• Proven experience in a supervisory role in a production or industrial setting• Demonstrable knowledge of health and safety legislation• Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management• Excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications• High levels of written and verbal communication skills• Full driving licenceDesirable:• Knowledge of production and accounts software packages (Eg.
