On behalf of our highly successful client, we are seeking a proactive and organised Buyer to purchase materials and other necessary items in line with business demands. The role ensures materials are acquired at the best overall cost, within required timelines, and with the expected quality and service levels.About the role:
  • Negotiate pricing and issue purchase orders aligned with business requirements.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials at or below target cost for both factory and site operations.
  • Mitigate overspend through negotiation and proactive management strategies.
  • Identify critical decision dates, influence lead times, and raise awareness of potential supply chain risks.
  • Quickly and efficiently resolve any supply chain disruptions.
  • Maintain precise procurement records.
  • Monitor actual versus projected costs, providing transparent reports on savings or overspends.
  • Facilitate requests for additional materials while ensuring process adherence and accurate cost allocation.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Promptly address and resolve any invoice discrepancies.
About you:
  • Previous procurement experience , preferably within manufacturing or project led environments
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident and effective communicator.
  • Strong numeracy skills (GCSE Maths grade 5/C or equivalent).
  • Proficient in IT and comfortable using procurement-related software.
This is a 9 month FTC therefore the candidate must be able to start immediately.
