We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Animal Management to make a significant contribution to our teaching and learning processes within the Curriculum Area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about enhancing the educational journey of our students through dynamic teaching, curriculum development, and active engagement in college activities.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver formal scheduled teaching and tutorials, actively engaging students to progress towards successful completion.
  • Conduct regular assessments, progress reporting, and marking of student work, including management and supervision of educational visits.
  • Accurately and timely record data and information such as registers, withdrawals, transfers, assessments, examination results, and student progress.
  • Maintain student morale and discipline, collaborating closely with college managers to ensure an appropriate learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain links with employers to enhance and enrich the student experience.
  • Contribute to the development of existing curriculum and generate new, responsive provisions alongside college managers and course teams.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance processes including Annual Course Review and Self-Assessment.
  • Engage in college marketing activities, providing advice and guidance to students and attending promotional events.
  • Implement new learning technologies within teaching practices.
  • Set and monitor targets related to recruitment, enrolment, retention, achievement, attendance, and other teaching outcomes in conjunction with college managers.
  • Maintain course and curriculum quality files, ensuring compliance with all relevant assessment and recording requirements.
  • Serve as an academic point of contact for a designated cohort, maintaining positive relationships with students and their parents/carers/guardians.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of diversity among students, preparing them to be global citizens who value a diverse society.
  • Participate in staff college events and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in teaching and curriculum development within further education, we also would like to hear from people who have been in industry and want to become lecturers.
  • Teaching Qualification or willingness to get one
  • Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.
  • Knowledge of current industry practices in Animal Management is highly desirable.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
