Senior Quantity Surveyor - (Bewdley DY12)

Salary: £55k 65k plus package

Calling all talented Senior Quantity Surveyors ready to make the next step in their career at a well renowned civil engineering company, we have the role for you!

Since their formation almost 70 years ago, my client have forged an excellent reputation as one of the leading civil engineering companies in the UK and have an impressive pipeline of work currently as they continue to grow rapidly. They have an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to come in and initially work on a huge water project in Bewdley, Worcestershire DY12. In terms of the day-to-day responsibilities, they would include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Mentor junior staff and maximize contract profitability.
  • Monitor costs against budgets and identify risk control options.
  • Prepare estimates and procure subcontractors, including contract documentation.
  • Assess and certify interim and final subcontractor payments.
  • Prepare and agree on main contract variations.
  • Assist in preparing documents for dispute resolution (adjudications, arbitrations, etc.).
  • Ensure all work adheres to quality, safety, and environmental policies, as well as company procedures

Experience / knowledge required:

  • Ambitious individual with strong communication skills and highly agile.
  • Demonstrates innovative problem-solving abilities and effective negotiation skills within various construction environments.
  • Possesses excellent numeracy and IT skills to manage financial and mathematical demands.
  • Experience in civil engineering projects, including highways, structures, river works, and flood protection, with a main contractor.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) using the NEC form of contract.
