Job Title: Recycling OperativeLocation: Kidderminster/StourportShift: 30-50 hours per week (Friday to Sunday in Kidderminster; Monday and Tuesday in Stourport)Hours: 7:45 AM - 5:15 PMPay Rate: £12.60 per hourJob Overview:We are seeking a Recycling Operative to assist with the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery, including training on the front loader, while managing waste in accordance with regulations and procedures.Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate heavy machinery, including a front loader, while following all established procedures.
  • Maintain compliance records as required.
  • Adhere to site monitoring and waste acceptance procedures in line with landfill permits.
  • Learn and understand waste management license requirements, including acceptance protocols and operational controls.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on machinery and equipment.
  • Report any defects according to established procedures.
  • Keep rest areas clean and maintain general housekeeping.
  • Ensure machinery is kept clean and in working order.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed, consistent with the role's responsibilities.
Knowledge / Qualifications:
  • Experience operating heavy machinery (such as a tractor or FLT) is necessary; training on the front loader will be provided.
  • Understanding of waste acceptance and landfill operations is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently within a team setting.
