Our client based in Kidderminster provides a range of customised services, including warehousing, distribution, and sales and marketing, to support partnered manufacturers of medical and surgical products across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join their team during this period of unprecedented growth.

As a Warehouse Operative, your role will be to ensure that all operational standards are achieved as directed in accordance with the processes and procedures operated by the company - goods receipt, put away, pick, pack and ship in-scope products within the central distribution centre, and to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of medical, surgical and pharmaceutical products to customers.

Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness will contribute to the smooth operation of the warehouse, ensuring that customers receive their orders on time and in perfect condition.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Building pallets for all orders to ensure they are dispatched on time in full
  • Assist with dispatching of goods to ensure they are dispatched on time in full
  • Assist with racking management ensuring that we utilise space
  • Assis with stock management to ensure the warehouse capacity is maximised
  • Assist with goods in / booking in when required
  • Ensure stock control routines are carried out when prompted and count stock.
  • Receive goods into the warehouse following the necessary procedures, completing the relevant documentation to the required standards, and resolve queries and problems, liaising with the necessary departments where appropriate.
  • Quality check assembled loads and consolidate orders to ensure the most productive use of equipment and resources
  • Carry out duties in line with Health & Safety and Manual Handling requirements including picking and packing medical products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by good housekeeping and adhering to company Policy
  • Complete clerical duties as required including entering stock onto the computer system
  • Carry out other general warehouse duties as required

Previous Experience/Qualifications:

  • An in-date, valid Reach Truck or Counterbalance FLT license is preferred.
  • Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment is essential.
  • Must have good numeracy and literacy skills as 50% of the job is clerical.
  • Must have good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Able to work on own initiative and independently
  • Undertake duties including lifting and carrying weights
  • Flexible approach to duties and ability to follow instructions

Additional Information:

  • Please note this is a full-time, permanent role working Monday to Friday 8 am - 4 pm.
  • £23,810 is equivalent to £12.21 per hour (37.5 hour week) reviewed after successful probation period.
  • 23 days holiday plus Bank holidays.
  • Company bonus scheme.
