Complex Needs Assistant

This role is ideal if you have previous experience within SEN or a degree in Psycholoyg, Criminology or Sociology and, would like to expand your knowledge and, skills within complex needs.

A specialist school are actively looking for a committed Complex Needs Assistant to siupport with speech, language and, communication difficulties as well as, those with complex and, learning needs. This setting in Bexhill-On-Sea, caters for residential and, day pupils between the ages of 5 to 19. They are proud to say that they are a total communication enviroment. This ensures all students can make their wishes known and, staff with respond in the best communication style that suits them.

Responsibilities of a Complex Needs Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with complex needs and help, students understand instructions.
  • Assist in implementing individual learning and, support plans.
  • Support children during social activities and outings.
  • Encourage communication and, also look after their physical needs.
  • Work alongside the teacher and SEN team to create a positive learning environment.
  • Prepare and provide learning materials.

Requirements of a Complex Needs Assistant:

  • Impose patience and understanding.
  • Have an understanding with challenging behaviour.
  • Always be adaptable in any give situation.
  • Be able to develop strong and positive relationships with children.
  • Committed to working as part of a team.
