- Provide administrative support to the Conveyancer, including drafting and filing documents as directed.
- Act as a liaison with clients, estate agents, lawyers, and third parties, handling communication as needed.
- Manage new business inquiries, including providing quotes to prospective clients.
- Open new files and assist with AML and KYC documentation.
- Compile contract papers for sales and request necessary searches and documents for purchases.
- Retrieve documents from HM Land Registry and handle exchange of contracts as directed.
- Prepare files for completion, including redemption statements, internal paperwork, and completion statements.
- Manage completion processes, including handling payments, liaising with clients, estate agents, and third parties, and submitting SDLT returns.
- Draft and prepare AP1s for submission and assist with requisitions from HM Land Registry.
- Assist with file closures and archiving.
- Perform other duties as reasonably requested by the Conveyancer or Practice Group Leader.
- Prior experience in a similar role, such as Sales Progression, Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Secretary, with a strong understanding of conveyancing tasks.
- Familiarity with legal protocols and conveyancing procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other software.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a professional telephone manner.
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.
