Deputy Manager - Supported Living Service

Location: Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex

Reports To: Service Manager & Area Manager

Salary: Up to 45,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with on-call rota every 1 in 3 weeks

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Job Description:

Harry at Amber Mace is delighted to be working on behalf of a reputable and compassionate Supported Living Service provider in Bexhill on Sea. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join their team, or a Senior worker looking to step up into Deputy Management level.

This role will oversee 3 units in the area, each supporting no more than eight service users with safe Leaning Difficulties. The successful candidate will either have substantial experience in a similar role or be a senior assistant with leadership experience, ready to advance into a deputy position.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

o Assist the Service Manager in the day-to-day operations of the three units.

o Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

o Monitor and manage the quality of care and support provided to service users.

o Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the needs of each service user.

Leadership and Staff Management:

o Supervise and support a team of support workers and senior support assistants.

o Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one supervision sessions.

o Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities to staff.

o Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage across all units.

Service User Engagement:

o Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all service users.

o Encourage service user independence and participation in community activities.

o Address and resolve any concerns or complaints from service users and their families.

o Conduct regular assessments and reviews of service user needs.

Compliance and Reporting:

o Ensure all services comply with CQC standards and other regulatory requirements.

o Maintain accurate records and documentation for all service users and staff.

o Prepare and present reports on service performance and outcomes.

o Assist in audits and inspections as required.

Health and Safety:

o Ensure a safe and secure environment for service users and staff.

o Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.

o Respond to emergencies and incidents, providing appropriate support and reporting.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a supported living or social care setting.
  • Experience working with Learning Difficulties setting/
  • Experience as a senior assistant or in a leadership role is highly desirable.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
