We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a rewarding opportunity starting November 2024 at a special school in Bexhill. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and are committed to helping students access and engage with their learning.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Supporting a young adult who has Autism and associated behaviours. 
  • Assist in creating an inclusive learning environment where every child feels supported and motivated.
  • Work closely with the teaching staff to prepare materials and resources that aid in lesson delivery.
  • Observe and understand the individual needs of each student, recognising signs of distress or disengagement and providing timely intervention.
  • Accompany students who require a change of scenery to help them refocus and re-engage with the lesson.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, understanding their unique requirements and adapting support accordingly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children, particularly in educational or care settings.
  • Understanding of special educational needs and how to support children with these needs within a school environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or special needs support are advantageous but not essential.
