Academics is excited to offer an opportunity for a Behaviour Buddy to join a dynamic school in Bexhill. As a Behaviour Buddy, you will play an essential role in supporting children with behavioural challenges, working alongside teachers and staff to ensure a positive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, focusing on behaviour management and emotional support.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, helping to promote self-regulation and build confidence.
  • Support children with special educational needs, working with teachers and other staff to implement tailored support strategies.
  • Maintain a calm and structured learning environment, offering guidance and support to students with challenging behaviour.
  • Monitor student progress and report to teaching staff, contributing to individual development plans where necessary.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a similar role, particularly working with children with behavioural needs, is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • A commitment to supporting students in their academic, emotional, and social development.
  • Experience or an understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude, with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
