A specialist school are actively looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to assist with speech, language and, communication difficulties as well as, those with complex and, learning needs. Responsibilities of a Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Assist with 1:1 and, group interventions to improve communication through personalised methods to accomodate to each child's invidual needs.
  • Encourage different ways to communicate and, learn specialist communication methods such as, Makaton, Sign Language, PECS and, TEACHH.
  • Will work to significantly improve stutters, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, selective mutism and speech delay.
  • Liaising with the class teacher, therapists and, support staff.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress, adjusting support plans as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
