Mechanical Estimator

Our client is a well established mechanical and electrical contractor based in Bexley, Kent. Due to a prolonged upturn in works and a busy order book well into 2025 they are looking to expand the extensive team and are now looking for a mechanical estimator.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of Kent's leading specialist contractors working on new build commercial developments across the region.

Working Monday to Friday 60k - 80k plus package

Applicants will be responsible for compiling mechanical estimates for the company's projects, working out how much a project is likely to cost and create budgets accordingly. The role will also include assessing material, labour and equipment required and analysing different quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.

preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client;

performing risk and value management and cost control;

advising on procurement strategy;

identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;

preparing and analysing costing's for tenders;

submitting bids;

analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;

valuing completed work and arranging payments;

writing reports;

preparing and submitting final accounts;

making valuations;

providing advice and forecasts about costs;

Candidate Requirements:

Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent

Technically competent with a good understanding of mechanical installation methods and pricing

Experience on large commercial projects

Strong mathematical and IT skills

Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
