GSL Education is seeking dedicated Science Teaching Assistants (ScienceTAs) to join our client secondary schools in South East London. This is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to support students and contribute to their academic success.

Responsibilities of a Science TA:

  • Assist in the delivery of engaging science lessons as a ScienceTA.
  • Support students in understanding scientific concepts and completing practical experiments.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help.
  • Help maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate with science teachers to prepare lesson materials and resources.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Requirements of a Science TA:

  • Previous experience as a ScienceTA or in a similar educational support role.
  • Strong knowledge of science subjects at KS3, KS4, and KS5 levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
