About the role
To work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Occasional 1:1 and working with intervention groups as the school requires.
- Assists with the planning of learning activities.
- Monitors pupils responses to learning activities and accurately records achievement/progress as directed.
- Provides detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils achievements, progress, problems etc.
- Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task
- Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
- Prepare and clear up learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils work and contribute to maintaining a safe environment.
- Participates in discussions with parents/carers under the general direction of a teacher.
- Record basic pupil data.
- Support childrens learning through play
This is a long-term position with the potential of being permanent. 32.5 hours per week, term time only, 38 weeks per year.
