Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and energetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a primary SEN school in Bexley. This is a full-time, long-term role where you will provide 1:1 support to a child with complex needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with complex needs, ensuring their educational and emotional development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with personal care needs, maintaining the child's dignity and promoting independence.
  • Use creativity and enthusiasm to engage the child in learning activities.
  • Support the child in developing social skills and managing behaviour.
  • Employ strategies to manage and support children with autism, ensuring their safety and well-being.


Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience working with children with autism or SEN children in a UK-based school setting.
  • Personal Care: Ability to provide personal care and support to children with complex needs.
  • DBS Check: Enhanced child and adult DBS on the update service is essential.
  • Skills: Must be energetic, creative, and able to engage children effectively.
