Job Description:

Tradewind is looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant who lives in Bexley. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and will be passionate about supporting their academic and social development. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students who need tailored support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support for students with SEN to help them access the curriculum.
  • Support students in developing skills to improve their independence, confidence, and academic achievement.
  • Assist in the preparation of resources and learning materials to meet specific student requirements.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents to ensure the right level of support is in place.
  • Promote students' social and emotional well-being through personalised care and attention.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, ideally with SEN students.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by SEN students and effective strategies to support their learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN support (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN qualification) is desirable.
