Job Title: Pastoral Assistant

Location: Bexleyheath

We are looking for a dedicated Pastoral Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the Progress and Achievement Leader in promoting high standards of achievement, behaviour, and attendance. You will help remove welfare barriers to learning and support vulnerable students, including those who are pupil premium, looked after children, young carers, and persistent non-attenders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee behaviour, attendance, and welfare issues for assigned year groups.
  • Provide support to individual students to help them meet learning expectations.
  • Manage the Behaviour for Learning system and ensure students attend detentions.
  • Be a proactive presence in corridors and during school transitions.
  • Liaise with tutors, parents, and external agencies on pastoral issues.
  • Ensure incidents and actions are logged in SIMs.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
  • Availability to work 5 days a week.

Additional Duties:

  • Participate in assemblies, staff meetings, and training.
  • Act as a first aider and designated child protection officer.
  • Support the school's ethos and policies.
