Paralegal - Private Client

Bexleyheath (near Dartford) | £26k - £30k DOE | GL037

We are seeking a Paralegal to join our clients team. This role will be based at their Bexleyheath office, however it will involve travelling between 2 other offices around Dartford and Orpington.

We are seeking a Paralegal to join our client's esteemed private client department in their Bexleyheath office. Engaging on a variety of legal matters including, will drafting,probate/estate administration, tax advice, set up and administration of Trusts Poers of Attorney, Court of Protection/Deputyship.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the fee earner, ensuring the smooth operation of the department. You’ll have the chance to liaise with clients and collaborate with a dedicated team, contributing to an environment focused on excellence and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Including but not limited to the following:

  • To take instructions from clients at the office by prior appointment in relation to straightforward Wills.
  • Following the appointment, to prepare, explain and submit draft documents for approval as quickly as possible - ideally on the same day or within 24 hours.
  • To present the firm's account promptly and to secure immediate settlement.
  • To ensure that all enquiries outside the scope of "Easywill", involving complex trusts, IHT advice etc, are referred to senior members of the Private Client team.
  • To advise in relation to Lasting Powers of Attorney and to preparation and registration following signature.

Requirements

  • Experience within a busy Private Client department and at least 12 months + of experience will drafting and Lasting Powers of Attorney experience
  • proven track record of managing a caseload and meeting client and business expectations
  • A law degree/LPC desired, although not essential
  • Must be able to travel between 3 offices.
  • Pleasant and courteous manner

  • Ability to work unsupervised

  • PC literacy
  • Accurate keyboard skills
