Purpose of Post:

To regulate, control and improve the quality of incoming materials, sub-assemblies, kits and major assemblies from various vendors.

Key Tasks:

Respond to material complaints, putting in place containment/quarantine actions and returning defective materials.

Completion of root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative countermeasures

Reduction of reject quantities, rejects costs, quantity of R2s and indirect costs caused by poor supplier quality issues.

Implementation of solutions in conjunction with suppliers to solve field service and warranty issues.

Implementation of all relevant processes and procedures within the Quality Management System

Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally in relation to critical quality concerns.

Provide support to Production by elimination of rejects from stock identified by QA or Shop Floor personnel.

Inspection and testing of material at Goods Inwards, manage inspection team on critical parts.

Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the requirements of external providers and SQA business requirements.

Undertake supplier on-site audits in line with the supplier audit schedule including the managing of any corrective actions that arise through problem solving exercises.

Undertake internal QMS audits and process audits at suppliers.

Supervision of quality personnel with regards to the resolution of internal / external material quality concerns, problem resolution

Establish, update and implement quality sign-off instructions, standards and documentation for all bought-in materials.

Ensure that all rectification/rework of materials is carried out and meets the agreed standards.

Report against agreed Quality and SQA metrics.

Work with suppliers to development zero defect opportunities and improvement ideas

General

Undertake all duties in line with General Data Protection and maintain utmost level of confidentiality.

Ensure work is completed to meet the requirements of ISO, Industry and Wrightbus standards.

Essential Criteria:

Educational Attainments:Time served Quality/SQA EngineerOR Degree/HND engineering or related subject or equivalent.

Job Experience:Minimum 5 years experience in Quality role in a manufacturing/Automotive/ Aircraft industry

Technical Skills:Ability to use NCM/SCAR type material reject systems, Ability to respond to material complaints from suppliers in a structured manner, Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective and containment actions using DMAIC and 8D problem solving processes, Ability to conduct audits to an agreed schedule at suppliers, ISO auditor trained, Ability to analyse facts, data and trends, using SPC and other data collation tools, Working knowledge of quality core tools, procedures and practices, FMEA, control plan, MSA, PPAP and APQP, Ability to update quality documentation to carry forward lessons learned, review, audit and create quality and job specific documents, Ability to support Production in the elimination of rejects throughout the process.

Desirable Criteria:

Experience:Experience in the bus building industry

Technical Proficiency:3C/Containment, PDCA,Kaizen, Lead Auditor Experience, Experience of using Minitab/Q-DAS, FMEA/Control Plan review/implement experience.
