We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. This role requires a valid commercial driving licence and experience with flatbed lorries is preferred. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the cargo.

Monday - Friday

8:00am - 6:30pm (Approax)

Standard Pay Rate - 15.28 per hour

Overtime Pay Rate - 22.92 per hour

Duties

  • Collections and Deliveries - (Approx. 20)
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing techniques are used to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and reports as required by company policies.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety on the road.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times.
  • You are responsible for loading your own vehicle, using scanners and load planners.
  • Having full control over your load, you are required to make deliveries, load and unload any returned items with the use of a hand held scanner.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
  • Must have held CPC for at least 1 year
