Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) (Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday)

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + 35% Shift Allowance

Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire 

Job Type: Full-time

Role Overview: We are looking for an Maintenance Engineer with expertise in electronics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support and maintenance to ensure optimal equipment operation.
  • Performing planned maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Conducting daily safety checks and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
  • Using maintenance software for logging and accessing planned works.
  • Keeping accurate records of machine issues and maintenance actions.
  • Managing the usage of oil and glycol in compressed air and ammonia plants.
  • Fault finding and repairing specialized plant and equipment.
  • Operating maintenance workshop equipment and production machinery.
  • Training new engineering technicians and preparing detailed reports for incoming shifts.
  • Preparing risk assessments and method statements for safety.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Recognised apprenticeship in a relevant field (4 years).
  • Electrical and mechanical skills, with a move towards multi-skilled capabilities.
  • Computer literacy and experience with PLCs (Siemens S7 & Rockwell).
  • Ability to diagnose faults using a laptop.
  • Familiarity with electrical control systems, pneumatic controls, and gas burners.
  • 17th or 18th Edition certification.
  • Experience with high-speed automated machinery.
  • Desirable: Experience in automated manufacturing.
