The Malloy Aeronautics Team:
Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.
About The Role:
Lead end to end battery production. Drive efficiency and innovation in the battery build process, optimising resource allocation and production schedules. Oversee regulatory compliance, health, and safety standards adherence.
Inspire and mentor the team to achieve and exceed on contractual targets. Be agile and focused in guiding the team to complete build schedules by creating a happy and motivating environment.
Provide guidance on new ideas and push the department forwards in operational thinking and resource management.
Ability to hold Security Clearance - 5 years residence in the UK
What you’ll being doing:
- Manage and lead a team of battery technicians.
- Oversee, lead, set the example for and demand completion of production in line with contractual deliveries.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to the department.
- Prioritise tasks to manufacture and deliver batteries on time.
- Train and motivate new staff and participate in assessing staff performance.
- Constantly look for ways to improve efficiencies in production.
- Share the workload and make sure the tasks are continuously rotating to keep staff motivated.
- Know staff strengths and allocate responsibilities accordingly.
- Conduct daily team briefs to update team members on responsibilities, practices and expectations.
- Ensure that Health and Safety policy and procedures are always followed, to avoid accidents, considering the risks in the battery production.
- Plan for future production necessities, pre-empting stock availability issues, so as not to affect the timing of the order.
- Evaluate changes in battery manufacturing processes as necessary and ensure that the build documentation and staff training is completed.
- Staff performance coaching on a monthly catch up and yearly appraisal basis.
- Own and manage recruitment into the Battery Team.
Essential Skills and Experiences:
- Battery production / technical knowledge
- Health and Safety - battery risk management, fire safety.
- Electrical mechanics qualification
Desired Skills and Experiences:
- Certificate in 'Science of Fire and Explosion Hazards from Lithium-Ion Batteries’
