GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a hugely successful, specialist surface treatment provider located in Oxfordshire. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a New Product Introduction Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent contract.

This position is working Monday - Friday with some flexibility with regards to hours to meet the demands of the business. Potential for hybrid working also when the need arises. offering a highly competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum which is dependent on relevant experience.

The Ideal candidate for this role will be a manufacturing engineer from the automotive sector with a focus on managing projects and product introduction, from concept to delivery.

As an NPI Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating with the customer and various departments, to ensure that new products are launched on time, within budget, and meet the agreed quality standards. You will also be tasked with identifying and mitigating risks, troubleshooting issues, and continuously improving processes to enhance product performance and manufacturability.

NPI Manager main duties:

  • Actively stand in for the Engineering Manager when he is absent for the business.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with the customer on Quality and delivery.
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans and timelines.
  • Monitor and report on project progress and performance.
  • Identify and resolve production issues and bottlenecks.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct process validation and qualification activities.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing teams.
  • Develop and provide documentation (PPAP/APQP) for new products and processes.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Analyse production data and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Support cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects.
  • Ensure proper handover of new products to production teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure product reliability.
  • Work with customers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.

NPI Manager required skills and experience:

  • Previous Engineering/Project/Manufacturing Management experience essential.
  • Previous experience leading projects and possess a competent understanding of PFMEA.
  • LEAN/Six Sigma training and relevant qualification highly desirable.
  • Confident individual who is able to liaise with customers and clients at all levels on the full life cycle of bringing new products to market and the risks and processes needed to implement this.
  • Proven experience of introducing new products or processes into the volume manufacturer.
  • Ability to interpret 2D and 3D technical engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of how to conduct product trials and assessing potential problems during new product introduction to the manufacturing team.
  • A strong Practical Technical background within a similar engineering based business.
  • Computer literate, Problem Solver who works well under pressure.
