We are looking for an experienced Accounts and Payroll Assistant to join a local company. Working alongside the Accountant and Bookkeeper you will be supporting with the timely completion and submission of payroll, entering invoices and more.
Working hours will consist of 09:00-16:00 Monday to Friday with hybrid working available as long as Thursday and Friday are worked in the office. This position may be considered on a part time basis for the right candidate.
Duties of the Accounts and Payroll Assistant:
- Answer the phone for the accounts department.
- Manage phone and email queries.
- Assist with Auditor requests.
- Set up excel spreadsheets.
- Manage the weekly payroll system, ensuring timely submissions.
- Enter and file supplier invoices.
- Use Sage to post and pay invoices.
- Reconcile supplier accounts.
- Liaising with suppliers when necessary, building and developing relationships.
- Collect statements.
- Work alongside an accountant and bookkeeper.
- Distribute all required information/scanning documents.
- Day-to-day Ad hoc tasks as required.
Personal Attributes:
- Previous experience working within a payroll position.
- Purchase ledger experience.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Knowledge and experience using Sage.
- Organisation skills.
- Good time management.
- Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Excel.
- Work well independently but also as part of a team.
Experience having used Staffology payroll system (formerly IRIS) would be advantageous for this position.
Offering £28,000-£30,000 per annum dependent on experience, this position is based in a village outside of Bicester so you must have a Driver’s Licence and access to your own transport.
