Quality Controller – Paint (Part Time)

Location: Bicester

Permanent Position

Salary: £19,968 - £24,960 per annum based on 24 hours per week

With a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years, their specialisation lies in delivering distinctive finishes and meeting stringent deadlines. Offering prototype assistance across a diverse array of materials such as carbon fibre, fiberglass, and metals, they excel in professional-grade paint finishes, intricate pattern masking, and bespoke paint formulations, all executed with industry-standard products.

We are currently seeking a skilled Quality Controller to join our dynamic team in our Paint Shop department. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Prep, Paint, and Polish techniques and a strong understanding of manufacturer standards and expectations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining quality and ensuring that our work consistently meets the highest standards.

You will work in a modern, bright, and spacious facility which operates on a day-shift schedule, Monday to Friday (7:00 am – 3:30 pm), with the potential for overtime. This position offers flexibility and allows you to choose which days of the week suit you. Once chosen this will be your set working schedule.

Responsibilities of the Quality Controller:

  • Oversee and ensure the quality of work across the Paint Shop, including Prep, Paint, and Polish stages.
  • Ensure all work aligns with manufacturer standards and meets customer expectations.
  • Support the ISO 9001 audit process, ensuring compliance with quality management systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of in-process and finished work to guarantee adherence to specifications.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the team and address any quality-related issues promptly.
  • Accurately maintain and update all workshop documentation and records, ensuring all paperwork is filed correctly.
  • Use computer systems to record data, complete reports, and support audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with the workshop team to continuously improve quality processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow and ensure project deadlines are met.

Requirements of the Quality Controller:

  • Proven experience in a Paint Shop environment, specifically with Prep, Paint, and Polish techniques.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturer standards and quality expectations.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 audits and supporting quality management systems.
  • Computer literacy is essential, with the ability to update and maintain records accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
