G&H are proud to be supporting Hedley Studios to recruit a Buyer to join their Procurement team. This is a really integral role within the business, youll be responsible for the timely procurement of components and commodities for the manufacture of their vehicles.
The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a small close-knit team. You'll need to be comfortable working in an environment where you have plenty of autonomy, they expect everyone to be high-performing and self-managing. Its an entrepreneurial environment so you will need to be switched on, and be able to take the initiative when required.
Key responsibilities;
Life-cycle responsibility delivering high quality, value for money components into Hedley Studios
Accountability for cost and budget management for direct-spend portfolios
New supplier identification and introduction into Hedley Studios
Deliver commodity strategy in line with business requirements aligned with the organisations key stakeholders.
Reference and awareness of technology and quality roadmaps within scope.
Work cross-functionally with all departments to drive core quality, cost principles and process.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
Essential:
Previous procurement experience
A strong, clear and confident communicator.
Ability to work to deadlines and demands.
Keen attention to accuracy and detail.
Proven commercial background / strong negotiator.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated to work autonomously.
Experience within small/medium businesses
Engineering and technical knowledge
Experience of ERP Systems Ideally SAP B1
Nice to have:
Previous manufacturing / automotive procurement experience
Knowledge of niche Production/Assembly environments
Able to understand and interpret detailed component and assembly drawings.
Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and their appropriate selection.
