Role Description
Support Worker - Autism and Learning Disabilities

You must hold a full UK manual driving licence to apply for this role
  • Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire
  • Salary:£12.00 per hour (£23,400 per annum) plus benefits: paid induction; overtime paid over 37.5 contracted hours
  • Hours:37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis
  • Shift Patterns: 7.00 am 3.00 pm, 2.00 pm 10.00 pm (please note, the shifts may vary due to the need of the people we support)
  • Employment Type: Full time, Permanent

We are on the lookout for Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to be able to drive and have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.
As a support worker, you will be part of an experienced staff team working within a busy and vibrant home where no two days are the same.
Support worker duties include:
  • Daily activities such as cooking meals, basic cleaning tasks, medication administration (after completing relevant training), food shopping with the people we support.
  • Providing support for offsite activities such ascinema, bowling, swimmingand appointments.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of.
  • Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims.
  • Going away on seaside and staycations with the people we support, helping them to live their best life!
  • Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality.

We are looking for someone who can devote to 37.5 per week and are willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering mornings, evenings, and weekends and occasional sleep-ins.
You will work closely with the registered manager, deputy manager and your seniors to ensure that we are delivering the best person-centred care, ensuring outstanding delivery of support in line with our vision; inclusive communities where people withdementia, autism, and learning disabilities and physical disabilities participate as equal citizens.
As a support worker youll be part of a team that includes support from a positive behaviour support consultant. Your day-to-day management will come from an experienced, passionate leader who will work alongside you. This will assist you with your own leadership and interactions that will in turn enable people to move forward in their lives creating community connections, friends, hobbies, interests, and work. Being passionate, creative and values led will really help you in achieving the small and bigger goals and outcomes that we all see as part of a safe, happy, healthy and empowering life. You will be driving the person we support their car, sofull UK clean manual drivers license is essentialfor this role.
Who will you be supporting?
John*enjoys going to Farmability where he gets to paint, feed the animals, do woodwork and much more. He has built his self-reliance over the years and enjoys days out to theme parks and going on holidays!
Josh*has the best sense of humour and has an infectious smile and is always very helpful. He loves to go swimming and taking rides on the train to explore different places and staycations!
Jess*enjoys listening to music and doing arts and crafts as well as playing with LEGO. She loves going out in her car and train rides to farms and feed the animals. She is a massive fan of Thomas the Tank. Anything you want to know about Thomas, just ask her!
Joe*is an amazing young man, he loves football in particular Ronaldo. He enjoys listening to music, going out shopping in Oxford. Loves watching YouTube videos about food from around the world and has an appetite for multi cuisines- not to forget he is a brilliant cook and a great at sharing his recipes with staff team.
