HGV Service Technician

bout the Role:
Alecto Recruitment is working with our client to find a Skilled and Flexible HGV Service Technician in the Bicester area.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a varied role, providing top-quality service to our customers and taking ownership of a range of tasks.
Salary & Benefits:
- Basic Pay: 36,000 - 41,000 per annum (17.31 - 19.71 per hour)
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): From 59,227 per annum
- Overtime Pay: 1.5x after 40 hours, with average weekly overtime earning up to 12,462 per annum
- Saturday Overtime: 1 in 3 Saturdays paid at overtime rate (1,765 per annum)
- Efficiency Bonus: Up to 6,000 per annum (paid monthly based on performance)
- Roadside Assistance Pay: Standby rates of 25 per night, adding up to 3,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections on HGVs
- Perform general servicing and repairs
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
- Work as part of a team to meet deadlines
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Participate in an on-call rota for roadside assistance
- Provide excellent customer service and communication
- Undertake manufacturer-specific training and certifications to broaden your skillset

Key Requirements:
- Relevant technical qualification or proven experience in HGV maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Organisational skills to meet deadlines
- Flexible attitude towards tasks and responsibilities
- Understanding of health and safety regulations
Preferred but Not Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in vehicle maintenance
- LGV/HGV/PCV license
- Roadside Assistance training
- Bus and coach experience
- IRTEC accreditation (we offer IRTEC courses)
