Job Purpose: As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the Finance Team in the preparation and analysis of financial information, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with financial regulations. This role is essential in aiding the business to make informed decisions through detailed financial insights and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering and analyzing relevant financial data.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely posting to the general ledger.

  • Conduct variance analysis, identifying trends and discrepancies to provide actionable insights.

  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts, ensuring accurate financial records.

  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and liaise with external auditors as required.

  • Maintain and update financial systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

  • Provide support in cost analysis, inventory management, and other ad-hoc financial projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • AAT qualification or studying towards ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or accounting role, preferably within a retail environment.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.

  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
