We're excited to be working with a well-established manufacturing business in Biggleswade looking for a progressive Accounts Assistant to join the team.
You'll be working alongside an ambitious Finance Manager to ovesee the day-to-day work whilst developing and improving processes.
Duties:

Inputting and processing invoices.

Tracking and matching PO numbers.

Ensure all financial records are entered accurately and allocated.

Prepare outgoing invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments to support cash flow.

Assist the Finance Manager with project reporting and planning.

Review and reconcile bank statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
-
Proactively investigate any financial discrepancies, escalating issues where necessary.

Support the preparation of financial reports, assist with VAT returns, and contribute to month-end and year-end processes.

Provide assistance with ad-hoc finance tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of the finance function.
Key Skills & Qualifications:

AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

Strong knowledge of Excel and familiarity with accounting software (experience with specific platforms is a plus).

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
