My Client is seeking a qualified Accounts Assistant to join their busy team. Your main duties will be to s upport the Finance Manager in overseeing daily financial operations. This role involves processing invoices, reconciling payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with various finance tasks. Main Responsibilities:
- Purchase Orders & Expenses: Generate and track purchase orders, ensuring all expenses are accurately recorded and allocated.
- Invoice Processing & Payments: Process invoices, reconcile payments, and ensure accurate financial record-keeping across both offline (e.g., Excel) and online (e.g., Xero) accounting software.
- Client Invoicing & Credit Control: Prepare outgoing invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments to support cash flow management.
- Project Cost Analysis: Assist in analysing project costs upon completion to assess profitability and provide insights for financial planning.
- Bank Reconciliations: Review and reconcile bank statements with internal financial records, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Financial Investigations: Proactively investigate any financial discrepancies, escalating issues to the Finance Manager where necessary.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports, assist with cyclical VAT returns, and contribute to month-end and year-end processes.
- General Finance Support: Provide assistance with ad-hoc finance tasks as required, ensuring the smooth running of the finance function.
- Purchasing Administration: Retrieve sales orders from the Sales team, upload them into the Unleashed system, and raise corresponding purchase orders.
- Supplier Purchases:
Skills/Experience:
- AAT qualification or equivalent is required.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and familiarity with accounting software (Xero experience is a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Salary & Working Hours:
‘Working hours at 8am - 2pm Monday - Friday - £24,000
