Junior CAD Designer

We are recruiting on behalf of a renowned manufacturing client specialising in the production of highly specialised products. They are seeking a Junior CAD Design Draughtsperson to join their dynamic team in Biggleswade. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring CAD designer with a background in mechanical design to grow their career and contribute to innovative, industry-leading projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use SolidWorks 2021 and AutoCAD LT 2023 software to create 2D/3D layouts, structures, and mechanisms used in specialised products.
  • Develop accurate technical drawings, models, and designs, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to create innovative solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Revise and update designs based on client feedback and evolving project needs.
  • Ensure designs consider engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and machining techniques.
  • Interpret and work from architectural and engineering drawings with precision.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD modelling and detailing software, preferably with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Background in mechanical design with a solid understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing, and machining processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in MS Windows and MS Office Suite.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Team-oriented with the capability to bring original thought and problem-solving skills to the table.
