We are an agile privately owned SME operating from our premises in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, offering a fully integrated line-up of design, engineering and system manufacturing solutions.
Role:
We are seeking a design engineer to expand our multi-skilled design team.
Typical Responsibilities include:
* Working with in house engineering team on customer projects.
* Contribute to technical investigations.
* Creation of reports, design files and other documentation for customers.
* Working with a variety of customers in various sectors.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent.
* Must have 3D CAD experience i.e. Solidworks, Inventor and CREO (preferred).
* Experience of designing machined parts in Aluminium and Steel.
* Experience of designing sheet metal parts.
* Experience of design for manufacture.
* GT&D.
* Drawing to BS8888 standard.
* Experience in electrical design, schematics, switch gear, safety systems.
* Experience in cable harness design an advantage.
* Basic electronics an advantage.
* Experience in producing compliance documentation ie. Hazard Analysis, Compliance Matrix and CE documentation.
* Good MS Office skills.
* Experience in Aerospace / Defence and advantage.
* Must work well in a team.
The Mechanical / Electrical Design Engineer role will involve working on UK classified programmes the candidate must therefore be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.
