We are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. This role requires a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to analyse project specifications and requirements effectively. The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver precise and competitive estimates.

Duties

  • Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analysing labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on material costs and industry trends.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing information.
  • Monitor project budgets and assist in cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and presenting estimates to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all estimating activities.

Experience

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
