High growth business is looking to expand the infrastructure team to help during period of cloud transformation. You will be required to be onsite 1-2 days per week, which can be agreed with the team, so quite a bit of flexibility.

You will be joining a small and friendly team who are busy with a number of projects, a small back log and a significant cloud transformation agenda for the next 12-18 months (Azure). When through the small backlog, you can expect a 70/30 Project/BAU split, across a wide range of technologies.

This role is responsible for the technical implementation and maintenance of services and infrastructure, encompassing both on-premise and Azure cloud environments where you will be involved in provisioning, deploying, and sustaining systems to align with business needs.

Specifically:

  • Design, build and management of the on-premise servers (Windows), virtualisation (Hyper-V) and our cloud infrastructure (Azure / IaC / Terraform).
  • Ensuring scalability, reliability and security of infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the performance and availability of infrastructure including regular maintenance such as patching and updates.
  • Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect infrastructure environment.
  • Leading infrastructure projects from initiation to completion. On the horizon includes migration of end of life servers to the cloud, selecting and implementing a new DR solution and enhancing security posture.
  • Reporting on infrastructure performance, incident and improvements

About you

  • Wide Infrastructure Engineering experience with demonstrable experience in physical Servers 2012-2019 (Windows), Virtualisation (Hyper-V) and Cloud (Azure).
  • IaC experience is essential given the planned migration to Azure over the coming 6-12 months (Terraform ideally, ARM, Bicep, others)
  • Demonstrable experience with implementation of and backup maintenance (Veeam)
  • Experience with on prem data centre maintenance and management - long term will be majority in the cloud, but with some on-prem).
  • Demonstrable Azure Management (VM’s, NSG rules, Storage accounts etc) to be able to effectively contribute to the gradual migration of our environments to the cloud.
  • The ability to create and maintain technical documentation with a good attention to detail.
  • Hardware and software patching/firmware upgrades
  • Some Networking experience desirable in configuring and maintaining network devices such as Firewalls (Palo alto/Cicso ASA), Switches, WiFi and Routers
  • Able to work end to end on projects, with initiative and willingness to learn, but also able to work as part of a small team.
