This is a hands-on role with focus on continuous improvement bolstering the Engineering and Operations teams. You will also champion design and specification aspects on new Capital Projects, process improvements or re-engineering existing systems. Support for the Electrical, Mechanical and Multiskilled technicians to service and fault find on existing systems and equipment.
Principle Accountabilities:
To supervise and carry out maintenance work activities to ensure optimal long-term availability of all plant, to preserve the value of the assets and to ensure Heath Safety and Environmental obligations are met along with financial targets.
The efficient planning and execution of all electrical maintenance activities, working closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure and promote productivity at all Sites
The supervision of a team of Technicians and on occasions contractors ensuring their performance is maintained to a high standard, including electrical planned, preventive and reactive maintenance, problem diagnosis, corrective action, repair, replacement and testing of site equipment and systems.
To act to equipment breakdowns across all sites during both normal hours and if required outside of normal working hours, as a commitment to flexible working practices to meet operational and maintenance requirements is a prerequisite to succeed in this role.
Control, maintenance and repair of all PLC, SCADA, HMI and Drives across the Paralloy Ltd sites, to include critical spares, program backups, site training and development.
Attend meetings on Teams and daily face to face with maintenance and production departments to review workload and plan corrective actions. Feedback and data entry to establish maintenance KPIs produced on Dashboard for managerial meetings. Assist with Engineering Manager to create and maintain department budget and finance objectives.
Participate in various continuous improvement activities across the site.
Establish and enforce expectations related to safety, compliance, corrective actions and appropriate work behaviours. Maintain and improve where applicable the highest standards of Health and Safety within the working environment.
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
Minimum HNC, preferred Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
At least 5 year's experience in heavy industry with supervisory experience.
PLC / SCADA / HMI / DRIVES proficient to enable testing, repair, commissioning, programming, and fault finding. PLCs to include Siemens S7, RS Logix, Allen Bradley, Compact Logix 5000 & 500, Mitsubishi Processors.
Experienced in the installation of electrical control systems including AC / DC drives, Variable frequency drives, closed loop control with positioning systems.
Experience with monitoring equipment, install and commissioning of vibration and temperature detection.
Computer competent with EXCEL, POWERPOINT, WORD and CMM Systems (Synchro).
Ability to co-ordinate and supervise work activities for the Electrical, Multiskilled and contractor personnel.
Knowledgeable and competent with reading electrical drawings, process, and control diagrams.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
