They are currently seeking a support assistant to work with students with speech and communication difficulties, enabling them to become active, independent, empathic learners with strong communication and physical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in the delivery of personalised learning plans for students with special educational needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, ensuring they understand and complete tasks.
  • Assist with the physical, emotional, and social needs of students, promoting their independence and self-esteem.
  • Help prepare and adapt classroom materials to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students during school activities, outings, and therapy sessions.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Requirements:

  • A caring and patient nature with a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
