We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Contract Reviewer with expertise in the steel industry, process development, and heat treatment specifications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating contracts, creating process routes, approving certifications, and ensuring compliance with technical and quality standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, a deep understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and subcontractor negotiations to optimise costs and production efficiency.

Job Duties

Review technical contracts to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and company policies.
Assess manufacturing feasibility based on contract specifications and technical requirements.
Verify alignment of heat treatment and material specifications with process capabilities.
Develop and optimise process routes for manufacturing, ensuring adherence to heat treatment specifications and metallurgical properties.
Approve technical documentation and certifications, such as material certificates, process approvals, and quality records.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient implementation of process plans.
Identify and order suitable raw materials based on contract and process requirements.
Review and validate material certifications to ensure compliance with industry and customer specifications.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of materials.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate terms with subcontractors for heat treatment, machining, and other outsourced processes.
Ensure subcontractor compliance with technical and quality standards.
Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure contract terms are met effectively.
Stay up to date with industry advancements, heat treatment methods, and metallurgical standards.
Recommend process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Support internal audits and quality control initiatives related to contract execution.

Key Requirements

Strong background in process engineering, metallurgy, or mechanical engineering.
In-depth knowledge of heat treatment specifications, steel properties, and industry standards.
Experience in manufacturing process development and creating process routes.
Familiarity with material certification approval and quality assurance procedures.
Proven ability to negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical contracts and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality management systems.
