Day to Day Duties
Working as a Steel Fixer for our client Duties will be:
- MIG Welding experience is essential for this role.
- Interpret technical drawings and complicated engineering documents.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Perform physically demanding work and lift heavy items.
- Work in a fast paced environment, subject to numerous schedules, priority changes and short notice activity.
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work well in a team.
Essential Skills
- To interpret technical drawings and follow written instructions.
- Use a wide range of materials including rebar.
- To work with tight tolerances up to 5mm.
- Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
- Liaise with the work supervisor.
- To MIG weld bars based on specifications and drawings.
- To keep count of finished product and prepare product for shipment.
- Manual handling and heavy lifting
- Use an overhead crane to assist with lifting and stacking heavy items.
- Operate other machines within the Workshop when requested to support business needs.
Experience Required
- MIG welding: 2 years (required)
- Reading Blueprints/Schematics: 2 years (required)
