Excell Supply is working on behalf of a newly established, purpose-built facility designed to provide exceptional education and support for children and young people with SEMH and SEN. The Role

As Deputy Head Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the vision, culture, and success of this school. Working closely with the Head Teacher, you will:

  • Lead and inspire a team of passionate educators and support staff.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the curriculum tailored to SEMH and SEN needs.
  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and pastoral care.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, respect, and positivity.
  • Ensure therapeutic strategies are integrated into daily school life to support students' individual needs.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring the school runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders.

This position is offered on a supply basis, with the possibility of temp-to-perm for the right person, allowing you to demonstrate your capabilities while contributing to the school's long-term success.

About You

We are seeking an exceptional leader who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial experience in SEN and/or SEMH settings.
  • Has a proven track record of leadership and management in an educational environment.
  • Demonstrates deep knowledge of SEND frameworks, policies, and best practices.
  • Has experience or knowledge of implementing therapeutic approaches in an educational context.
  • Exhibits outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Brings enthusiasm, resilience, and creativity to overcome challenges and drive progress.
