Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Art and Photography to inspire and enthuse students and to further strengthen the achievement and progress of students within our Art and Photography department.St Thomas More is a good school (Ofsted 2022) committed to high standards of growth and professional development.The school is popular - always oversubscribed beyond our admission limit - and well respected in the local community. We are a successful school with a large Sixth Form located near Willenhall, with easy access to the M6 motorway network. We welcome and encourage informal visits.The qualities we are looking for include:

  • The ability to lead and develop excellent teaching and learning within the curriculum area across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
  • A highly motivated, innovative and capable leader with a proven commitment to inclusive and inspiring teaching where each and every child can achieve
  • The ability and commitment to oversee the quality of coursework across the department and ensure deadlines are met and outcomes are excellent
  • The dedication to lead and develop extra-curricular Art provision
  • The willingness to continue to support and develop links with primary feeder schools
  • A proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (or equivalent) is desirable
  • A willingness to work as part of a team is essential
