Do you have a background in Manufacturing and worked in a fast pace site, where you have implemented new process for efficiency in production? 

Then this position could be for you! 

Position Summary: Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Process Improvement Engineer to join a thriving team in Bilston. This is a newly created role inspired by practices in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing plant operations, ensuring efficient chemical and raw material usage, driving continuous improvement, and developing efficient production processes. The role also involves coaching and training production personnel and working in a challenging, heavy industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize plant operations and develop efficient production processes.

  • Ensure efficient chemical and raw material usage.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Monitor production processes and chemical data to enhance efficiency and quality.

  • Conduct regular inspections and root cause analysis for quality control.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Collaborate with operations, HSE, maintenance, and quality teams.

  • Train and coach production staff on process improvements.

  • Attend daily management meetings to review performance and address issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

  • Over 5 years of manufacturing experience.

  • Proven experience in independently improving a manufacturing plant.

  • Competent in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations.

  • Hands-on experience and the ability to communicate effectively to change long-standing practices.

  • Calm, structured, methodical, and consistent in following up on initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the galvanizing industry or similar manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with industrial machinery, chemical processes, and production technologies.

  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
