Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in providing high-quality care and support within an EBD/LD environment. The successful candidate will support the Registered Manager in leading a dedicated team, ensuring the delivery of person-centred care that promotes the well-being, safety, and development of our service users. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is eager to make a positive impact in a dynamic and rewarding setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Support: Assist the Registered Manager in the daily running of the service, providing leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring a high standard of care and support is delivered.
  • Team Supervision: Oversee and mentor the care team, conducting regular supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings to promote best practices and professional development.
  • Care Planning & Implementation: Develop and review individual care plans tailored to the needs of service users with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and/or Learning Disabilities, ensuring they are regularly updated and effectively implemented.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure the service complies with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and CQC standards.
  • Crisis Management: Support staff in handling challenging situations, providing guidance in de-escalation techniques and other appropriate interventions.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a point of contact for families, external professionals, and regulatory bodies, building positive relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Administration & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, incident reports, and care documentation, and assist with preparing reports for the Registered Manager and regulatory bodies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies for service improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance the quality of care provided.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar role within the health and social care sector, particularly in EBD/LD environments.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with strong people management skills.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care (e.g., NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent).
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regulations and best practices within the EBD/LD sector.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, service users, and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure, particularly in crisis situations.
  • Driving License: A full UK driving license is desirable.
