The Role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our dedicated team. As a Team Leader, you will provide leadership and support to a team of residential care staff, ensuring the children in our care receive the best possible support. You will lead by example, providing guidance and direction, as well as maintaining high standards of care and safety. This is a rewarding leadership role where youll play a crucial part in shaping the future of the children we care for.


Working Hours:
Full-time, 3 on 4 off rota to support the needs of the children with evening, weekends and sleep ins required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of residential care staff, ensuring high-quality care is provided at all times.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of individual care plans to meet the specific needs of each child in our care.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to support staff growth and development.
  • Ensure the home operates smoothly, adhering to all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead and model positive behaviour management strategies, promoting a calm and supportive environment.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development and well-being of the children in our care.
  • Ensure the home is a safe environment, monitoring health and safety procedures, and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of each childs progress, incidents, and care plans, reporting any issues or significant changes to the appropriate authorities.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in residential child care, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • NVQ Level 3 (Children and Young People) or equivalent is essential. NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management is desirable.
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential to support transport needs for the children in our care.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with children, families, and professionals.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and work collaboratively with a team to achieve the best outcomes for children.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people, and a strong commitment to their well-being and development.
