About the Role
This is a hands-on position that demands technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining and repairing factory machinery. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment with a mix of mechanical and electrical tasks, ensuring our operations run seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance, repair, and installation of factory machinery.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with minimal downtime.
- Handling a wide range of systems, including machine tools, gearboxes, pneumatic controls, fire alarms, and electrical drives.
- Conducting planned maintenance and liaising with external contractors when required.
- Maintaining general factory infrastructure and systems.
- Sharing call-out responsibilities and providing weekend breakdown cover on rotation.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or higher).
- Experience with:
- Machine tools
- Gearboxes and drives
- Pneumatic systems
- Fire alarm testing and maintenance
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the confidence to escalate issues when necessary.
Desirable Skills:
- Electrical qualifications (18th Edition preferred).
- Experience with single and three-phase motors, AC/DC drives, and heater/cooling controls.
- PAT testing certification and knowledge of electrical control systems.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (42.5 hours/week, including paid lunch).
- Rotational weekend coverage: Up to 50.5 hours/week when on call.
